This two-mode hybrid system runs on fuel saving technology and has one mode for city driving and one mode for highway driving.
The first mode has been developed for low speed and light loads. This makes the hybrid operate on electric power alone and the engine shuts off for extended time periods, thereby reducing the fuel consumption. The second mode springs into action when the vehicle is on the highway. This mode has a combination of electric assist and high tech electronic controls such as Active Fuel Management, cam phasing and late intake valve closure. Eight-cylinder power is available in conditions like passing, towing or steep climbing.
